Hijman is an Amsterdam-based, nationally operating wholesaler of cleaning products. The company uses SAP Business One for all its business operations. Many cleaning companies buy supplies for all their cleaning addresses from Hijman, either in the store in Amsterdam or online. At the end of December 2013, Hijman migrated to the newest version of SAP Business One 9.0. This opportunity was also used to implement the comprehensive automation of the physical store using Retail XML. This allows goods to be paid for quickly at a normal checkout or on an iPad. Payments can be made using the connected payment terminal, while registered customers can also purchase on account.
The new system went live at the beginning of January with a completely new Magento online store and a customer portal, both of which are linked to SAP Business One. Hijman is now able to process new customers efficiently via the online store. For existing customers, in addition to the online store, there is also a customer portal. This gives customers access to an ordering list for each cleaning address. Various online reports are also available to customers, providing them with real time overviews of, for example, the status of their order.
The introduction was a great success for Hijman and its customers, resulting in 1,500 orders in the month of January, which were successfully processed via the portal in SAP Business One.
